My Keys: listening, heart, groove.
BIO, part 1 – how he has falled in love with music
Lele Garro was born in 1983. As soon as he learned to walk, he started searching for the music. He spent his childhood listening to Spyro Gyra, Dave Grusin, Earth, Wind & Fire and Blues Brothers. When 6 years old, he taught himself to play the guitar.
At 15, he played the guitar, with his friends, in the most typical young band, working hard to afford his first professional instrument, a Fender Stratocaster, the first crash, that he named “Blacky”.
One day, however, the unexpected happened: he had to substitute a friend in the Gospel Choir and had to play the electric bass. And…. Love at the first sight! The bass had called him, Lele saw the light and realized that the bass would have been his life reason.
From the age of 18, he has studied the electric bass and the double bass, first with private lessons and then at the G. Verdi Conservatory (Milan).
His teachers: Stefano Elli, Piermario Murelli, Marco Conti, Paolino dalla Porta, Paolo Costa, Lorenzo Poli.
He graduated from the Conservatory in 2010.
